Omaha Hi Lo Poker (8s or better) - Flush

You should always be cautious if you hold a flush that is not the highest one possible. A conservative player who merely calls your bets on the flop and the turn, may well have the nut flush and be waiting for the river to make sure no full house is available before he makes a bank breaking raise.

Draws to anything less than the two best possible flushes are recommended only if you have significant outs. Suppose you hold Queen of diamonds, 7 of diamonds, 6 of hearts an 9 of clubs, and the flop shows 9 of diamonds, 5 of diamonds and 4 of clubs. Either a 3 or an 8 will give you the nut straight, and the eight possible cards that can do so will provide important outs to go with your flush draw.

With only one card in your suit showing on the flop, flush holdings are never worth pursuing if they are your only route to success. They may, however, prove useful backdoor cards if you also have a legitimate draw for a straight or full house.
